Ellyse Perry does not celebrate many innings with a raised bat anymore. She has played too many of them. But the 96 not out that took Sydney Sixers to the top of the WBBL table on Monday was worth a moment of stillness.
Chasing 172, Perry batted through the innings and finished the job with a straight six. She faced 61 balls. The boundary came six times. It was, in the words of one teammate, “the quietest domination you will ever see”.
She then bowled two overs for nine runs and picked up two wickets, because of course she did.
